The Auditorium

Pembroke has never had its own theatre, whether for lectures, drama or conferences.

The new auditorium will be a flexible space, with retractable ‘bleacher’ seating available for lecture and performance audiences. Alternatively, the room can be used as one large flat space for functions, other meetings and even exams!

The auditorium will be suitable for student theatrical productions, with entrances both sides of the stage area which lead to green rooms behind, in addition to the main doors at the side.

As well as hugely improving our teaching and performance space, this also represents a big improvement in our offering to vacation conference clients, who provide a vital component of our annual income.

In addition to the auditorium, we will have further new meeting spaces in the form of our double-aspect assembly room (with a view back over to the Fellows’ Garden as well as onto the new quad), and three seminar rooms (which will be fully equipped with up to date teaching technologies).
